Using fresh and seasonal ingredients from local farmers to create letterforms and type.

What started as a side project to show people what was in our CSA box each week has grown over the past several years into what has become #veggietype Food Typography. Each week we challenge ourselves to do a series of #veggietype using only fresh and seasonal ingredients from local farmers. We take the items we purchased at the farmer’s market and make them into letterforms to spell out words describing the items pictured, eg. fresh, nourish, scrumptious, etc.

With being advocates for sustainability, we only eat seasonally and buy from local area farms so we love sharing what we get each week to raise awareness about our local food options. We have a plethora of locally grown food from farms in NC and for every dollar spent at a locally-owned business (aka a farm), 75% of that dollar stays in the local community. So in addition to eating healthy, local and fresh food that tastes better, we’re happy to support the local economy, our community and knowing where our food comes from.

You don’t have to live in NC to get fresh local food. Check out for a farmer’s market near you and follow our #veggietype project.
